Your workout streak now has a face: introducing FitPug
Your workout streak now has a face
Every habit app knows the same dirty secret: streaks work until they don't. A number on a calendar is easy to abandon. Day 47 becomes day 0, you feel bad for an evening, and the app gets deleted by Thursday.
We built FitPug because we think the problem isn't the streak — it's that the streak doesn't look at you.
Meet your pug
When you sign up, you adopt a virtual pug. Name it whatever you want — ours is Kevin.
Kevin's fitness is computed from your real workouts. Log a run, a gym session, yoga, even a proper brisk walk — takes 30 seconds, no wearables, no syncing, no permissions dialog. Your last 7 days of activity plus your streak decide which of five forms Kevin takes:
- Couch Pug — zero workouts this week. One with the sofa.
- Walker Pug — 1–2 workouts. Leash located, momentum detected.
- Jogger Pug — 3–4 workouts. Certified Good Pace.
- Athlete Pug — 5+ workouts. The abs are under the fur, trust us.
- MEGA PUG — 6+ workouts a week and a 14-day streak. Squirrels tell their kids stories about this pug.
Here's the part that makes it work: it goes both ways. Skip enough days and Kevin de-levels. He gets rounder. He gets a little sad rain cloud. He looks at you the way only a pug can.
Guilt is a feature
Behavioral economists call it loss aversion: losing something you have hurts roughly twice as much as gaining the same thing feels good. Most fitness apps only offer gains — badges, confetti, charts. FitPug gives you something to lose that you actually care about.
You won't work out because a graph told you to. You'll work out because Kevin is looking a little round again, and that's somehow unbearable.
Rest days are fine, by the way. The engine uses a rolling 7-day window, so a sane 3–5 workouts a week keeps a happy, fit pug. Only sustained neglect sends anyone back to the couch. This is accountability, not punishment.
Free forever, Pro once
The free tier is a real product: unlimited logging, the full evolution system, streaks, weekly stats, and email reminders when you haven't logged by evening.
FitPug Pro is $29. Once. Forever. No subscription, because your pug shouldn't be held hostage monthly. Pro unlocks:
- 👑 Accessories — crown, sunglasses, bandana, cape, headband. Your pug, your drip.
- 📈 Full history + a 30-day training chart
- 🩹 A streak-repair token every month — life happens; patch one missed day.
- 📦 CSV export — your data is yours.
- ♾️ Every future Pro feature, no upcharge.
We take payment in Bitcoin (on-chain or Lightning) through our own self-hosted BTCPay server — no payment middlemen, no card forms, no data brokers.
The stack, for the curious
FitPug is deliberately boring where it counts: server-rendered pages, zero third-party JavaScript, no trackers, session cookies with sane flags, and your workout log in a database we back up but never sell. The pug is hand-built SVG that animates with plain CSS. The whole app is fast because there's nothing in it that shouldn't be.
Adopt yours
A pug is waiting at fitpug.com. It's free, it takes 30 seconds, and it will genuinely change how you feel about rest days.
Go on. Kevin believes in you.
FitPug turns workout consistency into a virtual pug that gets fit when you do — and visibly regresses when you don’t. Free to start, $29 lifetime Pro.
